Deer and bear seasons for each Wildlife Management Unit from DEC's own season-by-unit map data, with the antler-point rules where a unit has them. Deer Management Permits (antlerless tags) are by draw and aren't listed. General seasons for the game management units in this area; special permits, controlled hunts, raffles and damage hunts aren't listed. Rules can change during the season: check NYSDEC's regulations and emergency rules before you go.

Who can hunt here
State forests and wildlife management areas are open to hunting with a New York licence, on foot; some wildlife areas have their own permits or rules. Conservation easements are private working forests where the public has recreation rights on the parts DEC lists; some parts are leased to clubs or closed while being logged, so check the tract's DEC page. The Adirondack and Catskill Forest Preserve is open to hunting too, but it is never logged, so it has no cuts here.
Why some cut details are on DEC's map, not ours: DEC records the type of cut (clearcut, shelterwood, thinning) and its year for every stand on the state forests, but its terms say the data may not be passed on. We show the year each cut was seen by satellite, and link each one to the same spot on DEC's own public map, where you can click the stand.
